To the entire Cobb family, it is the utmost sadness that I heard of Gary's illness and his passing. As one of his coaches, Gary was a highly competitive player; having a gift from God to play many sports. His talents in football, basketball and baseball certainly made him one of the best, if not the very best, 3-sport high school athletes that I have seen or been associated with in 40+ years of coaching. More importantly, Gary was a special individual and a very good person. My regret is that I could have known him as a grown man! As a son, brother, husband, father and grandfather, friend and co-worker, I am sure he will be sorely missed. Hopefully, your memories of Gary Cobb will bring you peace and comfort as you deal with the loss of Gary. Our deepest heartfelt condolences to the Cobb family and friends.
May you continue to be blessed by your thoughts and memories.

I am a distant cousin of Gary's. As far as I can remember I never met him. My father was Knox Mintz who was a son of Ruby Poole Mintz of Cliffside, N.C. Reading all the wonderful things about him make me wish I had met him. My cousins...Scott Hines & Sylvia Mintz Thomas are working on our family tree and a Mintz family reunion this July. We have a Mintz Reunion page on FaceBook. I hope all of Gary's family will friend one of us on FaceBook so we can add your names and photos on the reunion page and so you can get details of the reunion date, place, and activities planned. Gary handled his illness with the same grace, strength, and humor as he conducted his life. It was a pleasure to know and work with Gary for many years, and to get to know his family through his stories of his children and grandchildren. He loved all of you very much. Although Gary will be terribly missed, I am pleased to know that I will continue to have a connection to Gary by working with Bryan going forward. I pray that each of you find peace. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

I met Gary when he first was hired by Zimmer Patient Care Division in Dover, OH. He was a quiet intense man that always had the other person's best interests in mind. I am proud to have known him as my friend and he will be missed by many. My heartfelt sympathies to Gary's family and to his "Zimmer extended family." I like to think I am a better man for having known him.

My thoughts and prayers are with Gary's family. I was not aware of the seriousness of his illness. Gary and I were classmates and friends from grammar school through high school. Even more than his gift of athletic talent, I always admired him for being just a genuinely great guy off the field as well as on. I am saddened by the fact we had lost touch over the years, but I still have many endearing and amusing memories of our school years together. Gary was a part of the history of Chase High School. He will be missed by many.

To Gary's family...you do not know me, but I played football for R-S Central High School, and graduated the same year as Gary. Our senior year, it was pouring down rain the morning of our game, and our coach talked with some of us about playing or cancelling it. We agreed to go ahead and play because we felt Gary couldn't throw the ball as well in the rain. The first time Chase got the ball, he threw a long touchdown pass. Things went down hill from there (33-0). My thoughts and prayers are with your entire family.

I am so sorry to here of Gary's passing and will pray for the entire family. I played football with Gary at Chase and recall the Shrine Bowl that he played in, after the game I went down to field and spoke to him (he had just kicked the winning field goal for N.C.) I was present at his induction into the Chase Hall of Fame. I considered Gary a great friend in High School.
