Gary W. Murrey, 51, of Belpre, OH passed away June 13, 2012 at CAMC. He was born April 10, 1961 to Charles E. Root and Lucille M. Murrey, and was preceded in death by his adoptive father, Robert E. Murrey, his sister, Pamela Davis, and his grandson, Jacob Murrey. In addition to his mother and father, he is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Murrey (Jeremiah Lyons) of Parkersburg and his son, Travis Murrey of Hockingport, his five sisters, Brenda Hall of Belpre, Vickie Williams (Mike) of Belleville, Brenda Hall of Pettyville, Linda Schrob (Alan) of Alliquippa, PA, and Tina Warfield of Vincent. Gary W. Murrey, 51, of Belpre, OH passed away June 13, 2012 at CAMC. He was born April 10, 1961 to Charles E. Root and Lucille M. Murrey, and was preceded in death by his adoptive father, Robert E. Murrey, his sister, Pamela Davis, and his grandson, Jacob Murrey.
In addition to his mother and father, he is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Murrey (Jeremiah Lyons) of Parkersburg and his son, Travis Murrey of Hockingport, his five sisters, Brenda Hall of Belpre, Vickie Williams (Mike) of Belleville, Brenda Hall of Pettyville, Linda Schrob (Alan) of Alliquippa, PA, and Tina Warfield of Vincent. He is also survived by three grandchildren, one grandmother, and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Gary most recently was self-employed and was a former member of the USMC. He enjoyed fishing and riding his Harley. He always had a smile on his face, never met a stranger, and loved his family and friends with all of his heart.
Service will be Friday, June 15, 2012, 2 pm at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Sunset Memory Gardens.
Visitation will be Friday, from noon until the time of service at the funeral home.
The family is requesting donations in lieu of flowers to help cover funeral costs. Offerings can be made at Peoples Bank (2107 Pike Street, Parkersburg, WV 26101) in the Memorial Fund for Gary W. Murrey.
