It has been 1 year since he passed now. I loved my Dad and I think about him everyday. He was a good old man and he taught me a lot, more than I ever realized. He will be missed. Forever your son.

Gary and I were close friends in south Redding
during all of our high school years. In fact, during that time he became very close to my mother Maxine in Bonneyview and he used to sit at the dining room table (for long periods of time) and talk about religion with my mom, who had been raised a Mormon-mostly about the Book of Mormon--It must have had an impact on Gary. When he was to be married at the LDS temple in Oakland I was asked to be his best man---but by that time I had left the church and could not be in the Temple. I felt bad about that. I thought about him during all these years, and I distinctly remember his dad, Pete Oaks a tough looking police detective, and his brother Dale.

I am glad for the opportunity to have met and worked with Gary at Patton and then at CRC. Gary was always eager to share his knowledge, humor, love of Jazz music and most of all the love he had for his family.
