A quiet man of solitude, Gary spent most of his adult life back on the family farm. He enjoyed a simple life in the home tucked back in the woods, just out the road from the old home place and within shouting distance of his younger brother. He shared this home with this beloved wife, Margaret Ann and a menagerie of the "critters" he adored. He was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Jessie Lynn Poore; maternal grandparents, Edith and Melvin Cochran; paternal grandparents, Dorothy and Parlin (P.W.) Poore, Gary leaves behind to cherish his memory; his parents, Pauline and Claude Poore; his loving wife and best friend, Margaret...

He shared this home with this beloved wife, Margaret Ann and a menagerie of the "critters" he adored. He was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Jessie Lynn Poore; maternal grandparents, Edith and Melvin Cochran; paternal grandparents, Dorothy and Parlin (P.W.) Poore, Gary leaves behind to cherish his memory; his parents, Pauline and Claude Poore; his loving wife and best friend, Margaret Ann Haggard Poore; step-son, Wesley Runions; son Sean Poore, daughters, Kendra Cheek, Khristie Patterson and husband Floyd; Amber Evans, special daughter, Cindy Baldwin; grandchildren, Heather, Vandra, Devanna, Lindsey, Alexandria, TJ, Lincoln, Chandler, Hayden, Deven, Trenton. Laura, Aidan and Emily.
Mourning the loss of their brother and brother-in-law are: Martha Sowder Whitworth and husband Jim; Alma Reece, Debra England, Junior Poore and wife Vickie, Bill Haggard and wife Ruth; Mike Haggard and wife Mary. Several nieces and nephews are also left to mourn his passing.
Graveside services for family and friends will be held at 10 o'clock a.m. Sunday, September 1, 2013 in the Irish Memorial Gardens in Tazewell, TN.
Pallbearers will be step-son, Wesley Runions; nephews, Michael Reece, Rob Reece, Adam England, Jody Keck and brother-in-law Bill Haggard.
