Mom,

Words can not express the emptiness I have in my heart since you left us on that Friday. I am quite sad that you are not here with us everyday but know you would not want me to be. It's probably one of the hardest things for me to do (not be sad and missing you.) You are truly missed by all of us. You left such a great legacy. Dad loves you so and your five girls could have not asked for a better Mother. Your 10 Grandchildren could have not had a better Grammy. We made it though Christmas but missed you so much. I know you were there. Your always around in every kiss we give to each other, in every hug tight, and every smile we make and take. Our memories of you are plenty and I will remember each one. I will carry you in my heart always and think of you often. Please watch over all of us and know that we will be together again. I Love You Big Much - Cissy

Hey Gram, we all miss you and wish you were still here. You always treated all your children, grandchildren, and Pa Paw the best you could and always provided for us. You are missed but everyone knows your better and in a happier place now. Love you!

To My favorite aunt, Aunt Gayle,
I don't know where to begin. Most of my favorite childhood memories are of times spent with you, Uncle Charile, my mother and cousins. The camping trips, the disney trip, and trips to Texas. I always appreciated you and my mom making holidays and vacations so special. Your special hugs, your good hearted laughter, and your storytelling are some of the things i will miss the most. you had a way of making everyone feel welcomed and loved.. You have passed these wonderful traits on to all of your daughters and grandchildren. What a great bunch to have for family! They all took such great care of you in your final days. I know they made you very proud! I love you and miss you dearly. You are in my heart always, and you will remain on the top of my "favorite people" list that I wanna be like! In closing i want to say "THANKS for the memories!" and until we meet again, I love you!

Dear Mom,
There are no words that can express how much I love you or how much I am truly missing you. The reason I avoided writing on this page was because I was hoping these past few weeks were just an awful dream. The harsh reality is that I was not dreaming and I have lost you; my mommy, my best friend. You are no longer a phone call or short drive away, the loneliness consumes me. As I go through this difficult time of sadness, I am finding comfort in knowing that you are free of pain and are peacefully in Heaven with our Holy Father. As selfish as I wanted to be in begging God to leave you here on Earth with me, I couldn't bear to see you suffering; Thank you God for answering my prayers.
As I attempted to find something to share with everyone, I came across this poem that sums up my speechlessness.
We little knew that day; God was going to call your name.
In life we loved you dearly. In death, we do the same.
It broke our hearts to lose you. You did not go alone.
For part of us went with you. The day God called you home.
You left us beautiful memories. Your love is still our guide.
And though we cannot see you, You are always at our side.
Our family chain is broken, And nothing seems the same.
But God will call us one by one. And one day the chain will link again. Author Unknown
I admire you so much and hope that in my journey through life I am looked upon as wonderful a person as you were. You left left this world leaving such an impression on so many people and have touched everyone's heart. You worked around the clock caring and loving us and there is no doubt that you are in Heaven working around the clock as a Beautiful Angel still spreading your care and love.
Thanks for being such a GREAT: Daughter, Sister, Woman, Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Aunt, Friend, Teacher, Nurse, Cook, Cheerleader, Taxi-driver, Neighbor, Patient, and Courageous Fighter.
You are my NUMBER ONE, my HERO, my SUPERWOMAN!
All my Love, " everybody love mommy" Melissa

GAYLE........I do not have to tell you because I know you know but I am going to say it again.........I LOVE YOU! And I will continue to tell the girls and the grandchildren that I love them......almost as much as I LOVE YOU!

Lacey Dirks

Hey Gram! I know you're partying up there in heaven and enjoying it. I will always have you in my heart and thoughts everyday, and I will never forget some of the most cherished memories with you! I always loved coming to visit and I know you enjoying having there. I will never forget the time you and I giggled so much after oyu watched me bring Quigley in and he had me going every which way outside as you watched through the window! Of course, there are many more memories and either good or bad I will always giggle and a smile will show on my face! You are the best Grammie a grandchild could ever ask for, and I hope to be as amazing as you! I know eventhough you won't physically be present on my wedding day, I know you will be there in spirit and always within my heart! Love you so much Gram, Love Lacey!!

My Dearest Gayle,

My friend for 48 years. You were a sister to me, much more than a friend. So many memories so much laughter with our children growing up together.
You taught me how to cook and even do crafts. Any recipe I cook and receive compliments I always say "thats my best friend Gayle's recipe". So I will keep on cooking and sharing my memories of you with my friends and family. On Christmas Day the beautiful Christmas tablecloth you made for me many, many years ago was the centre of the holiday meal.
I will miss you Gayle, life will not be the same without you.
Mark ,Stephanie and myself send our deepest sympathy and love to Charlie, Robin, Angel, Susan, Cissy, Melissa and husbands and of course all the grandchilren and Sandra and Aunt Aline.

Your friend forever,
Sandra

Dear Melissa, I thought the poem was so beautifully written by the Grandkids, it made me cry. Of course I know the pain you feel in your heart right now, also feeling my own pain of my father's recent loss. We are broken-hearted together in this. Your mom was so sweet, I remember her at the Christmas Swap Party! I believe she wore a fun Christmas sweater vest that day. So much of her will always be remembered and live on through you and your personality, as well as your sister's I'm sure. I know she will be greatly missed. Since the loss of our parents were so close together, as much as I think about my Dad, I will think of her too...bless you and your family. I will pray for peace and strength for all of you as well as my own. Love, Carolyn Shields

Susan Quatroy

Dearest Family,
For someone who never seems to be at a loss for words…even when I should
I'm having a difficult time searching for words to write this message…
Is it because anyone reading this knows, how much our beloved mother means to us and how much we mean to her and that those words would never have to be spoken less known written, for there understood. There is uncertainty, on my behalf, if the rest of you know how deeply I love each and every one of you. For my daily prayers ask for guidance in being a better wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend to all of you. I'm always thinking I will have another opportunity and day to copy the best I know and now I must copy the best I've known. My hardest lesson thus far is the one I learned in the past few days. My love for mom is greater than anything I've known and knowing God loves her even more than I brings me the most comfort. What's most important to me now is that I live my life to leave this life in the same matter as my mother. Being brave until the very end, no regrets and surrounded by my most precious assets. Could I really be so lucky to find in my own ending story; That I'm survived by my devoted husband of 50 years, my Trevor praising that no son had a better mother, 4 sisters telling each other I was the best sister, the cutest & sweetest grandchildren adoring me, daughter-in-law, brother-in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends missing me dearly. That this great woman leaves everyone at a loss. We will remember always how you loved us to your death. How we can hardly wait to be with you again. Could I ever really be this amazing woman, My Mother? My promise to each of you is I will truly do my best from this day forward, broken heart and all. Doing my best was something mom asked of me and I'm extremely late in delivering. I ask all of you to help me get to this place. Please.
Wishing all a Peaceful Christmas & My Everlasting Love
Susan / aka #3 – to You, Daddy…

Mom,

Mandi wrote this for you from all your Grandchildren. They received so much from you I just wanted to share this so everyone could read it. We love you and miss you more than words can say, but I think Mandi said it the best.

Grammy,

We just wanted you to know
How much you helped each of us grow.
Some of us young and some a bit more old,
We all have many traits from your mold.
How to be welcoming, loving, and kind
And to treasure the special things in life that we find.
Always there for us, whatever our need,
We are like the tree that has grown from your seed.
Teaching us the perfect balance of sugar and spice,
And providing for us, regardless of price.
You showed us the love of Family is beyond strong
And that a table can never have too many or be too long.
From this Earth, your body departs,
But please know that you live forever in each of our hearts,
From now on, you will watch us from up above,
Remember that we are always sending you our love.
We cherish you more than you could ever think,
And now it's time for you to get that “extra wink”.

All of our love,
Your 10 Grandkids

Also, Mom put up the tree, which is beautiful and classy, just like you would like it! Love you always, Mandi.

Charlie & Cissy,

I am so very sorry to hear about Gayle it is never easy to say goodbye to the ones we love and that is why it is so important to let them know how much we love them while they are still with us. I know you all let her know that and I think that makes it a little easier when we have no regrets. I pray for God's unbelieveable peace and comfort that only He can give. Cherish your memories of her for no one can take those from you. It has been a very long time but I remember what a wonderful woman Gayle was and know she will be missed tremendously.

Robin,

I never had the opportunity to meet your mother, but through our talks I know that she was the ROCK in your family. What an AWESOME person she had to have been, to teach you that GOD and family were most important. Psalm 116:15 says "Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints". Your mom is and always will be precious. May the times that you shared bring a smile to your face. I pray that God will strengthen your family during this difficult time.
