Celebration of Life services for Mr. Gaylon Ester Alderman, 87, will be held 4:00pm, Friday, January 22, 2010 in Centuries Memorial Chapel with Pastor Steve Gilley of Calvary Baptist Church, Shreveport, LA officiating. Interment will follow in the Centuries Memorial Park, Shreveport, LA.
The family will be receiving guests for visitation Thursday, January 21, 2010 from the hours of 6-8pm at Centuries.
Mr. Alderman was born September 1, 1922 in Houston County, Texas to Thomas Franklin and Millie Tims Alderman and passed away Tuesday, January 19, 2010 here in Shreveport, Louisiana where he was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He retired from McClain Trucking after 35 years of dedicated service. Mr. Alderman will be remembered as a loyal husband, faithful father, doting grandfather, and an honest friend to all who knew him.
Left to cherish his memories and tell his story will be his beloved wife of 67 years; Doris Duren Alderman, two sons: Glynn Alderman and wife Judy, and Gary Alderman and wife Charlotte, one daughter; Cheryl Spillman and husband Mike, six grandchildren; Amy Taylor and husband Johnathan, Lane Spillman and wife Sabrina, Blake Spillman, Angela Milligan and husband Reggie, Amelia Yarnell and husband David, and Ashley Alderman, six great-grandchildren; Sarah Spillman, Trevor and Ava Taylor, Emerson and Peyton Milligan, and Camille Yarnell along with a host of extended family and many faithful friends.
Honoring Mr. Alderman as pallbearers will be Jimmy Clements, Laird Evans, Hardy Evans, Mike Spillman, Lane Spillman, and Blake Spillman.
