Gene and Scott - so sorry to hear about your dad. He was always so kind to take care of mom's driveway in heavy snow, without her even saying a word, and we will always remember the annual taco party/eating contests! Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

To the Knisley Family:
I am deeply saddened by Gene's passing, and my most sincere thoughts and prayers go out to you. I first had the wonderful honor of meeting Gene leading up to my initial Planning & Zoning Commission meeting in 2008. Ever since then, Gene has not only been a phenomenal leader as Chairman of the Commission, but also a sincere and loyal friend to me. I will miss him terribly, but take great comfort in knowing he's now with our heavenly Father blessing those that have gone before us with his huge, infectious smile.
His gracious spirit and kind heart will forever be a part of me.
Sincerely,
Matt Tapp

To the family,
I was introduced to Gene in the early 1980's by my paramdeic partner, who talked a lot about Gene and his time in EMS. He truly was a pioneer in the building of ambulances, which I worked in for many years. I always thought highly of Gene. He will be missed.

I was so shocked to see in today's KC STAR that Gene had passed. I always found him to be so genuinely caring and compassionate in his dealings with everyone--and his ready smile was infectious!
He would occasionally come by my office when I was County Collector to see how the county was doing and share the Planning and Zoning Commission activities. He will be missed! Sandra Reeves
