Gene Edgar Baker, age 82 of Ravenna, passed away Saturday, August 2, 2014, while at Longmeadow Care Center. He was born December 11, 1931, in Lower Salem, Ohio, to parents Lawrence and Mildred (Zimmerman) Baker. Gene was a proud veteran of the US Air Force, serving in the Korean War. Mr. Baker retired from White Rubber in 1985. He was a member of Ravenna Moose Lodge 1234 and Ravenna VFW Post 1055. Gene was an avid bowler, and in his later years enjoyed gardening plants and flowers. Gene is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years Pat (Hibbs) Baker and their children: Karen (Sam) Cipriano, Gene Baker, and Diane Burson. His memory will...

He was born December 11, 1931, in Lower Salem, Ohio, to parents Lawrence and Mildred (Zimmerman) Baker. Gene was a proud veteran of the US Air Force, serving in the Korean War. Mr. Baker retired from White Rubber in 1985. He was a member of Ravenna Moose Lodge 1234 and Ravenna VFW Post 1055. Gene was an avid bowler, and in his later years enjoyed gardening plants and flowers.

Gene is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years Pat (Hibbs) Baker and their children: Karen (Sam) Cipriano, Gene Baker, and Diane Burson. His memory will also be cherished by his grandchildren: Melissa Graeser, Mindy Graeser, Dustin Burson, Austin Burson, Trever Burson, and Shelby Burson, as well as his great-grandson Dominic Graeser, his sister Norma Jean Davis, and his nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Gene was preceded in death by his grandson Brandon Burson.

Private graveside services will be held at Grandview Memorial Park. Condolences and memories may be shared at www.wood-kortright-borkoski.com. Memorial contributions may be sent to the Auxiliary of Robison Memorial Hospital.
