Geneva Abbott Obituary

Geneva Ruth Abbott, 91 1/2, of Fort Smith, passed away quietly in her home September 2, 2011 surrounded by her three daughters Irma Lou Collerain of Fairfield Bay, AR, Peggy Roy and Lavonne Abbott of Fort Smith. Geneva was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, O. D. Abbott, son Bill Abbott and grandson Adam Roy.

She is also survived by one sister Lora Mae Owen of Claremore, OK, nine grandchildren Steve Harris, Craig Harris, Bill W. Abbott, James Matthews, Brandi Lane, DeNeice Guest, Carmel Greenleaf, Simon Guest, and Joanna Guest and ten great grandchildren.

Geneva left a loving legacy to her family in quilts and other treasures crafted by her own hands.

Geneva was the best mother a family could ever have been blessed to have.

Memorial service will be held at 10:30 AM, Monday, September 5th, 2011, at Calvary Baptist Church, 2301 Midland Blvd., with Rev. Edward Ellis officiating. Private family burial was Saturday, September 3, 2011 at Vaughn Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
