ST MARTINVILLE – Funeral Services will be conducted for Mrs. Genevieve Broussard, the former Genevieve Daigle, age 78, at 2:00 pm Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at First United Pentecostal Church of Breaux Bridge with Bro. Jonathan Haygood officiating. Interment will follow at St. Elizabeth Cemetery in Coteau Holmes. Visitation will be held at First United Pentecostal Church of Breaux Bridge (3454 Main Highway, Breaux Bridge) from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Monday. Visitation will resume at 8:00 am on Tuesday and continue until service time. A resident of St. Martinville, Mrs. Broussard passed away at 9:10 pm on Saturday, October 12, 2013...

Visitation will be held at First United Pentecostal Church of Breaux Bridge (3454 Main Highway, Breaux Bridge) from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Monday. Visitation will resume at 8:00 am on Tuesday and continue until service time.

A resident of St. Martinville, Mrs. Broussard passed away at 9:10 pm on Saturday, October 12, 2013 at her residence.

Mrs. Broussard loved to quilt and embroider. She was also known as being an outstanding baker. Her life was her family whom she loved a great deal. Mrs. Broussard always taught her children to accept others for who they are and to love one another unconditionally. She was the hub of the family and was the glue that kept the family together. Also very important to her was her church. She was a faithful member of First United Pentecostal Church of Breaux Bridge and loved worshiping there as often as she could. Mrs. Broussard will be missed by everyone who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her seven children; Claude Broussard, Jr. and wife Susan of St. Martinville, Michael J. Broussard and wife Wanda of Charenton, Sheila Lasseigne and husband Thomas of Parks, Patty Armentor and husband Keith of Coteau, Matthew J. Broussard of New Iberia, Lisa Gossett and husband Andy of Georgetown, TX, Christopher Broussard and wife Marissa of Breaux Bridge, seventeen grandchildren; Neal, Ben, Corey, Lani, Trent, April, Sean, Seth, Brandi, Misti, Keith, Kyle, Jessica, Samuel, Landon, Derek and Austin; Fifteen great-grandchildren and one sister, Jane Bourque.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Broussard, Sr.; parents, Lifford and Alice Daigle; brothers, Paul Daigle, Floyd Daigle, Ulysses Persilver; sisters, Viola Easton, Lucille Borel, Kate Buford and Amelia Verret.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons; Neal Broussard, Sean Lasseigne, Cory Broussard, Keith Armentor, Kyle Broussard, Samuel Gossett, Seth Lasseigne and Ben Broussard.

Austin Broussard, Derek Broussard, Trent Broussard and Landon Gossett will serve as honorary pallbearers.
