Mrs. Genevieve R. Southerland entered into eternal rest on February 12, 2018 at the age of 91. Genevieve was born on March 30, 1926 in Portsmouth, OH to parents Lewis and Mallie (Wicker) Jones. She has numerous relatives in the Portsmouth area, including nieces Gwen Dunn and Carolyn Ishmael Fenton. Genny moved to Dayton, OH. Where she worked as a Proofreader for Winters National Bank for many years. She later moved to Greenfield, IN, where she served as the Manager of the drive through bank for Hancock County Bank until her retirement. Genevieve was known as Genny to her family and friends. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Indianapolis. Genny enjoyed crocheting and reading and being outdoors in her garden. Genny was an amazing woman, who will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Genny was preceded in death by her husband of 31 years, Ralph L. Southerland. Also by her brothers Stanley, Jenus and Lewis and sisters Louella and Thelma.
She is survived by her son Keith C. Southerland and his wife Ramona of the Pinnacle Club, grandson Brayden Southerland and fiancé Leah Bishop of Dallas, granddaughter Shay Southerland of Dallas, other loving family members and many more friends.
