George R. Guimond - Beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away peacefully at home on February 20, 2015.
George was born in Tampa, FL in 1928. He attended St. Paul Catholic Church in Jacksonville, was an Eagle Scout, graduated from the University of Florida and was a devoted Gators fan!
He served in WWII and was a Systems Analyst for State Farm Insurance for 36 years while living in Virginia and Illinois.
He and his wife retired in Florida where he enjoyed tennis and leadership in his Homeowner's Association.
Faith and family were his focus. He was a current member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
George was soft-spoken and his presence always made everyone feel at peace. He was calm, reassuring, full of wisdom and generous to all. His kindness and gentle manner was always present.
His mind was always sharp and remained with him through his final hours. He was great at numbers and loved to play cards. The grandchildren beamed if they could "beat Papa". He will be missed at the bridge table.
George is survived by his wife, Barbara of 58 years, his daughters, Paula Knaub, Irma (Bob) Sikma, sons, George (Deb) Guimond, Michael (Julie) Guimond, 8 grandchildren and devoted and cherished friend of the family, Msgr. WW Dubois.
