Mr. Black will certainly be missed, they don't make teachers like you that cared about the students!! He would get me in the classroom and stand outside and tell my momma across the street that he had to get me again today and it would be on, because my mother would get me too !!! I really appreciate all that you put into your students we needed it!!!! Mr. Black you were one in a million.

Mr. Black, I think of you often and always wondered how and where you were. I often reminisce of the days that I sat in your classroom hoping that my butt wouldn't end up on the tail end of your paddles. Unfortunately for me, I did encounter a paddling or two. Your famous "hang" as you would say while walking down the isle told somebody they were about to get a lick. I would cringe when I heard the word hang it you were on my row. I also think of the times my grandmother made dip for you and in exchange you fixed us some of the best ribs. I never had the opportunity to tell you but you were one of my favorite teachers. Rest well Mr. Black. Jamesetta Jackson Shepard- Former Clara Oliver Student-1979/1980
