GEORGE H. ALLEN 1927 - 2013 George H. Allen, 86, of Pensacola, passed peacefully to his eternal home on April 15, 2013 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on March 7, 1927 in St. Marys, KS, and was the fourth of seven children born to George W. and Dora Allen. He served in the Navy during World War II and was a retired Systems Analyst for the U.S. Civil Service. He was an active member of Westwood Christian Church, serving as Treasurer for over thirty years. 1927 - 2013

George H. Allen, 86, of Pensacola, passed peacefully to his eternal home on April 15, 2013 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on March 7, 1927 in St. Marys, KS, and was the fourth of seven children born to George W. and Dora Allen. He served in the Navy during World War II and was a retired Systems Analyst for the U.S. Civil Service.
He was an active member of Westwood Christian Church, serving as Treasurer for over thirty years. He filled his retirement years by caring for the elderly members of his congregation, spending time with his family and woodworking.
For almost 64 years, he was the loving and devoted husband of Jo Hamby Allen. He also leaves behind his three children and their spouses, Claudia and Roger Silverthorne of Pensacola, Randel and Connie Allen of Randolph, NJ, and David and Angie Allen of Lexington, KY. He was the loving grandfather of Tracie (Ken) Hardin, Jennifer (Wes) Greeson, Alison (Patrick) Keen, Erica, Courtney and Lindsay Allen, Hiatt and Griffin Allen and great grandfather of Emily, Anna, Jacob, Ashlyn and Grace. He is survived by his brothers Archie and Dale Allen and sisters Aileen Anderson and Doris Roberson.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 18, 2013 at the funeral home with Pastor Rick Malugani officiating. Interment will follow at Bayview Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 18, 2013.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Westwood Christian Church, 1111 N 57th Ave, Pensacola, FL 32506 or Alzheimer's Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
