George Clarence Ashbaugh, 100 years old, formally of Belton, MO passed away April 8, 2012 at his daughter's home in Peculiar, MO. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Margaret Helen; sister, brother and step-granddaughter. Clarence is survived by 2 daughters, Mary L. Waddington and E. Maxine Johnson; 2 grandsons; 7 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; 2 stepsons; 2 step grandsons and nephew.

Clarence was born in a log cabin April 11, 1911 at High Blue, MO. During his young life he worked in an apple orchard. As he grew older he worked in construction, service and sales at a local furniture and appliance store. During WWII he was employed with North American Aviation as a Lead Man over the assembly line of the B-25 Bomber airplane which was sold to the U.S. Army. After the war ended Clarence worked at Bendix AKA Allied Signal and is now known as Honeywell. After retiring from Bendix, fishing, gardening and traveling filled most of his time. He was a member of the CrossRoads Church, the Odd Fellow Lodge and Machinists and Aero Space Workers.

Visitation 9:30-10 am and funeral services will be 10:00 am Wednesday, April 11 at McGilley & George Funeral Home 611 Chestnut Belton, MO. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Kansas City Hospice & Palliative Care, or designated to the building fund at CrossRoads United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 167, Belton, MO. 64012.

All the Cox family - Finley, Nan and Julie send sincere sympathy to all the Ashbaugh family on the death of this very nice man. We have so many happy memories of times together with him and his wife, as well as their friends, at Pearl Waddington's as well as at the Lake cabin. May you be comforted by other expressions of sympathy and knowing that he had such a good, long life. Bless you all.
