George R. Blakey, 82, of Beverly Hills, Fl. passed away November 23, 2013 at Seven Rivers Regional Medical Center. A native of Underhill, Vt. Mr. Blakey retired from the US Army after serving 25 years with combat time in Korea and Vietnam with the 101st and 82nd Airborne. After his military service He was a manager of hospital food services for Morrison Food. George was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, The Knight of Columbus where he was a 3rd and 4th degree Knight, and The VFW in Beverly Hills.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years Geneva Y. Blakey; son, Stan R. Blakey and wife Cindy; 3 grandchildren, Eric R. Blakey, Courtney L. Blakey and Allison M. Blakey; sister, Kit Clark and husband Randall.
A Catholic Funeral Mass will be held Monday December 2, 2013 at 9:00 am Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, 6 Roosevelt Blvd, Beverly Hills, FL 34465. Interment will follow at 1:30 PM at Florida National Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral Home Sunday afternoon from 1 till 4 pm.
