GEORGE C. FLOOD HAMMOND, IN George C. Flood, age 94, of Hammond, passed away peacefully May 3, 2012. He is survived by two sons: Richard Flood of Williamsburg, VA and David Flood of Hammond, IN. He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Lois Flood. George was the only child born to Martin and Alice Flood of Iron River, MI. George C. Flood, age 94, of Hammond, passed away peacefully May 3, 2012. He is survived by two sons: Richard Flood of Williamsburg, VA and David Flood of Hammond, IN. He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Lois Flood. George was the only child born to Martin and Alice Flood of Iron River, MI. George retired as a Superintendent after 35 years of service at BP Refinery in Whiting, IN. He served in the Air Force as a weather forecaster after receiving training in meteorology and forecasted weather for pilots serving in the southwest Pacific during WWII. He was a graduate of the University of Michigan in Chemical Engineering and was a member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers. George was involved in many of his sons activities and enjoyed his years as a Little League manager and also as a Scout leader. He also enjoyed playing golf throughout his life.
