Dear Johnson Family,
I have many memories of time spent at Joanne's house with Mr and Mrs Johnson....mostly, I remember how they were always smiling and how welcome they made me feel. Last time I had the honor of seeing them was at Joanne's birthday a few years ago...and they were still that sweet, smiling couple still making me feel welcome and comfortable. God gave them to each other and since a special 'set' can never be separated, He placed them back together again as one. Only this time they will live forever without the burdens that were placed on them in this world. God Bless you, Mr. Johnson, as Our Lord Jesus hugs you and reintroduces you to your precious wife and son.

I have so many memories that I will keep close to my heart. One of my favorites was him teaching me how to catch minnows. He tied string around a mason jar filled with bits of stale bread. I remember thinking of what a great idea that was! Pop, Billy and I spent the afternoon catching minnows. Billy caught a snapping turtle on his fishing pole, too. Such a great day! Thanks for everything you taught me, and thanks for the memories. XOXO Chelsea

When I was young, around 9 or so, my father bought a white, 2 door, 4 seater, Chevy Nova convertible. My mother was horrified - what kind of car was that to get with 4 kids, a wife and mother-in law who all lived in the same house. My father loved that car and so did we. The first time we took a trip in that car up to Massachusetts to see my grandfather, my designated spot was in the front seat between the two buckets. My mother put a bed pillow between them so I would be more comfortable. We left on a Friday night after my father got home from work; it was pretty late when we left as my mom worked also so last minute things needed to be done. When we all got in the car I remember looking at my father and thinking he looked tired so I told him that I would help him stay awake while he was driving. He said he would not fall asleep and I responded by saying that I would keep him company then. He said "Ok then, we'll keep each other company."

Since it was late, everyone fell asleep on the way and my father and I kept each other company. We didn't always talk but we were comfortable being quiet with each other.

On every trip after that, the middle front seat on the pillows was my spot and keeping my father company my job.

I thought about those trips while I sat with him through the small hours of the night before he died. I am so grateful I was able to keep you company dad on that last trip. I love you, Nancy
