Mr. George Joseph Kergis – a native of Crete, Greece and a longtime resident of Mobile, AL, died Sunday, November 4, 2012 at his residence. Mr. Kergis was a member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Mobile. He was a chef at Gus Stevens Supper Club in Biloxi, MS for many years and at Eight Kings Restaurant in Mobile. He is survived by his wife, Adrianne M. Kergis; three children, Stephanie K. (Josh) Mosner, Zmaragda Anne (Danny) Barraco, and Gregory Angelo (Kris) Kergis; one brother, Angelo Cougiamtzakis; Three grandchildren, Sophia Kathryn Mosner, Robert Owen Kergis, and Christina Danielle Barraco; his brother-in-law, Augustus Z. (Margaret) Markris; his sister-in-law, Patricia Markris Adams; Koumbaro, Nick and Ethel Catranis; nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. on Thursday, November 8, 2012 from the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church. The family will receive friends at the church on Thursday from 10 A.M. until the 10:45 A.M. Trisagion Service. Interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Trust Fund or Penelope House.

Adrianne--I just heard the news today. I am so sorry for your loss. George was a great man. Even though he was confined to a wheelchair, he was full of life and gave joy to all who knew him. I will hold your entire family in my prayers.
