George Edward Maxwell, 78, of Garwood, NJ formerly of Union, NJ passed away on May 21, 2014 at Overlook Medical Center, Summit.
George was a veteran of the United States Navy and served on the USS Cavalla during the Korean War. Before retirement he was employed as a property manager at Cushman &Wakefield. He currently worked at The Home Depot as a sales associate in the paint department. George was a member of the Union Elks Lodge # 1583. He was an avid golfer and bowler and bowled with the Downtown Vets.
Beloved husband of the late Audrey Maxwell. Loving father of Amanda Maxwell and Hokie. He is also survived by many cousins.
Visitation will take place on Tuesday, May 27th from 3-7 at the McCracken Funeral Home 1500 Morris Ave., Union. A service will take place at the funeral home on Tuesday at 6:30 pm. Cremation will be private.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in George's name to New Jersey Elks Camp Moore, 281 Chestnut St., Union NJ 07083.
