Obituary

George D. May, 83, of Atlanta, GA died June 18, 2012. Mr. May was born in Quincy, FL. He graduated from Georgia Tech and served in the US Air Force. Following his honorable military service, he returned to Georgia Tech where he completed his Master's degree. He taught at Georgia Tech until 1968. After leaving teaching he spent the rest of his career doing engineering consulting with a focus on structural engineering. He is survived by his son, Frank May of Lithonia, GA; daughter, Mary Beth May (fiancée Darrell) of Dallas, TX; son, Will May (Susan) of Roswell, GA; sister, Betty Embry of Panama City Beach, FL and grandchildren Brian, Bill, Blake and Brittany May. A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 23, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Sandy Springs Chapel. A reception will follow.
