Dear Mehan Family, We came to meet George at the Cedars and over the years grew to know & love him and Lil. What a classy, wonderful couple. George, always patting Lil on the hand in assurance. Makes us wish we had known them earlier in life! Will miss him offering those doughnuts. Our heartfelt sympathies to you, his family, of whom he was greatly proud. Gary and Mary Ott

I was sadden when my brother,Terry Moffitt, told me of George's death. George Mehan was a wonderful man. He was a great friend to our father, Bill Moffitt. George and Lillian were very special friends of our parents, Bill and Dolores. I always enjoyed seeing George and remember his smile and dry wit. May your happy memories of him bring you a measure of comfort and peace.
God Bless

Uncle George was the older brother of my Dad, Judge Richard Mehan, Sr. who passed away in December, 2013. Dad always told a story of going to his older brother's house a few blocks away at 3:00 a.m. on Christmas morning years ago..in the snow.. to borrow a single piece of Lionel train track so that Santa Claus could finish putting the train set together for us.
Our grandpa, Dr. George Mehan,Sr., who was a WWI vet, visited Germany in the 1930's...and came home and told Uncle George and Dad that "you guys are going to have to fight the Germans." He was right...and Uncle George was awarded 6 Bronze Stars.
Uncle George has now joined his "Roomie" and Uncle Don in heaven.

No one is ever "ready" to lose a parent, but his life lessons and his love will be part of his children always. My thoughts are with you during this transition.
