Obituary

George was born on September 19, 1923 in Brooklyn, NY. He entered the Marine Corps in 1942 and served in the Pacific Campaign in World War II through 1945. A survivor of Iwo Jima and other Island Campaigns, he returned home to Brooklyn after 3 years in the Marine Corps and entered the construction trades. He was married to his long time sweetheart Rita and raised 3 children in Massapequa, NY. They later lived to Middleburg, NY, and then retired to Jacksonville, FL. He will be deeply missed. George's wife Rita years passed away in 2006. Their eldest son Joseph passed away in 1966. George is survived by his daughter, Josephine...
George was born on September 19, 1923 in Brooklyn, NY. He entered the Marine Corps in 1942 and served in the Pacific Campaign in World War II through 1945. A survivor of Iwo Jima and other Island Campaigns, he returned home to Brooklyn after 3 years in the Marine Corps and entered the construction trades. He was married to his long time sweetheart Rita and raised 3 children in Massapequa, NY. They later lived to Middleburg, NY, and then retired to Jacksonville, FL. He will be deeply missed.

George's wife Rita years passed away in 2006. Their eldest son Joseph passed away in 1966. George is survived by his daughter, Josephine McCarthy (Frank); son, George L. Ruotolo (Kimberly); Grandchildren Christopher (CJ) Ruotolo and Jennifer Ruotolo; Great Grand Children, Nicholas Lethco, Zachary Lethco and Anthony Ruotolo. George is also survived by several nieces and nephews, and he was especially close to his nephew Andrew Ruotolo.

The family would like to thank George's nearby neighbors, especially Raymond and Susan Amos and their daughters, who often assisted George during his later years, which allowed him comfort and security.

Funeral Services will be held10:00 am Wednesday, April 30th at HARDAGE-GIDDENS FUNERAL HOME- Beaches Chapel, 1701 Beach Blvd, Jacksonville Beach with entombment to follow at Chapel Hills Memory Gardens in Jacksonville, FL. The family will receive friends Tuesday, from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the funeral home.
