George R. George was born in Newark, New Jersey and made Sparta his home for 34 memorable years. He was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Church in Sparta, New Jersey, a proud Colonel of the Honorable Order of the Kentucky Colonels, and a humbly ordained minister. George is survived by his beloved children: George A. Segale and his wife Lana and Melissa Andres and her husband Anthony; loving grandchildren: Madison Segale, Kamryn Andres, Nicole Segale, and Cooper George Andres. There are also two blessed grandchildren on the way: Baby Girl Andres and Joseph George Segale. Friends and family paid their final respects at the Goble Funeral Home, 22 Main St., Sparta, New Jersey 07871 from 2-4, 7-9pm on Monday, April 28, 2014. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10am Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at Our Lady of the Lake Church, 294 Sparta Ave., Sparta, NJ. He was then finally laid to rest at Sparta Cemetery. Rest in peace old buddy. You were a wonderful friend over the years since we met at Edward Williams. We had a lot of good times. Although our path's did seperate somewhat over the years and our contact did lessen, I know our path's will cross and I will see you again. I'll miss you until then. My prayers are with you and your family. Your friend

George was one of my best friends at Barringer High School where we graduated from in 1966. We all stayed together for many years after through many good times and a few bad times. The memories I have about George are too many to list. He was a good friend but like so many other things in life we drifted apart for a few years only to reconnect a few years back and started to relive the "old days". He loved his kids and grand-kids and I can't start to say how much I will miss him.

I met George in 1966 when I was a teenager through my brother Harry who also attended Edward Williams and we became very close friends. He gave me a gold heart bracelet one day which was engraved on the back with the words "To Carol-Ann, Ti Amo, George". I still have that bracelet today. So to you, George, I say Ti Amo - I love you and I'll miss you more than words can say. Rest in peace.
