Georgia Apostolopoulos Obituary

Georgia Apostolopoulos was born on February 20th 1925 in Agrilovouno Messinias Greece, she was the second oldest of 5 children. She left the village at a very young age and moved to Athens where she lived with her godfather.
At the age of 29 with the help of her Aunty Maria Sainas she came to Vancouver by boat to work and help support her family back home in Greece. Georgia worked various jobs and when she had saved enough money she also brought over her brother Nick and sister Pauline to Vancouver for a brighter future.
In 1959 a close family friend introduced Georgia to John. They began a long distance relationship through writing letters to each other. Soon after John arrived to Vancouver and they married in 1960.
In 1964 they had their first child Tom and in 1965 they had their second child Alekka and her family was then complete.
In 1966 they bought their house on 5th and Bayswater where they spent their life together until their passing.
In 1992 she was blessed with her first grandchild John and in 1994 she was blessed with her second grandchild Chris, and she had the opportunity to hold, love and watch them grow up into fine young men.
In 2006 she stood by her husband's side and took care of him until 2011 when he past away.
On January 12 2013 Georgia passed away peacefully in Vancouver General Hospital from a brain aneurysm, with her family by her side.
She was predeceased by her father Alexandros, her mother Stavroula, her husband John, her sister Sotiria, and her brother Joseph. She was survived by her children Tom and Alekka, grandchildren John and Chris, her brother Nick, sister Pauline , Nephews , cousins and dear friends.
Georgia worked very hard during her life, to provide for all of her family. She was a strong , kind and loving woman with a very big heart. She was an amazing wife, Mother, Grandmother and friend to all. She opened her home to everyone and accepted people for who they were.
Georgia will be remembered for her big hugs, generosity and jokes, she will be greatly missed by all.

May an angel from above always shine in your heart and give you smiles of heavenly peacefulness. Please accept my dearest sincereness of love and caringness for the family and always my trueness to my dear friend Alex. I remember a beautiful lady of grace and kindness to me and i have been blessed with her true unconditional love for her family and everyone fortunate to meet a beautiful caring mom. Reminds me of a blossoming flower opening up and sharing all of its radiance of happiness. My heart and life will be greatly in honor of Mrs. Apostolopoulos and her ways.
