Gerald Wade Thompson, 71, of Southaven, MS passed away Saturday, May 13, 2017. He was retired from Memphis Bearing & Supply, a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, loved cowboy action shooting, hot rod cars, was an avid hunter and fisherman and a member of Holmes Road Church of Christ. Mr. Thompson lived every day to the fullest, was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Betty Thompson; daughters, Jennifer Taber (Josh) of Olive Branch, MS and Amy Bridgewater (Jason) of Tate County, MS; grandchildren, Jake Taber, Sarah Taber, Tanner Bridgewater and Hadley Bridgewater; aunt, Eunice Carr (Jim) of Hernando, MS; and a host of cousins and friends that will miss him dearly. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Rd., Bartlett, TN.
