Great shipmate in bootcamp with his warm smile. He wanted to be with his family so bad. ME TOO.
Saw him in 67 at Forest Park zoo doing his job and was proud for him again.

So sorry. I was in boot camp with 'Dyson' and on Sundays we would sit and wish we were back home. He always smiled and said he wanted to back home with his family. Lots of laughs from him in boot camp that helped us make it through. Thanks, Dyson.

"Hacksaw" scared me to death when I was a rookie but over the years, I found out that he was just a joker and that he was very nice to know.

Gerald was such a nice man. He and Peggy made me feel so welcome when I visited. He had a great sense of humor and a touch of mischievousness (maybe more than a touch). He will be missed by all that knew him. My warmest thoughts and deepest condolences to his family.
