Gerald Donald Agerstrand, Jerry or "Boomer" 70 of Melbourne, Fla. Went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 27, 2014. He had battled Lung Cancer for the last year. Gerald was born in Muskegon, MI on November 11, 1943 to Albina and Frederick Agerstrand. Gerald joined the Air Force in February 1963 and retired in August 1983. He also retired from US Postal Service. Gerald was a past Commander of American Legion Post 163, Commander of Amvets Post 34, President of VFW auxiliary post 8191 and a member of beachside VFW post 4643. Gerald Donald Agerstrand, Jerry or "Boomer" 70 of Melbourne, Fla. Went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 27, 2014. He had battled Lung Cancer for the last year. Gerald was born in Muskegon, MI on November 11, 1943 to Albina and Frederick Agerstrand.

Gerald joined the Air Force in February 1963 and retired in August 1983. He also retired from US Postal Service. Gerald was a past Commander of American Legion Post 163, Commander of Amvets Post 34, President of VFW auxiliary post 8191 and a member of beachside VFW post 4643. He is also a member of the USA River Rats.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Sue Agerstrand, his children Tamara Agerstrand Priebe (Tim), Theresa Lennon (Ray) and grandchildren Jordan Lennon, Brandi Priebe, Tiffani Priebe and Kiara Lennon. He was preceded in death by his son Gerald Paul Agerstrand (J.P.), a brother Chuck Agerstrand (Bonnie) and his sister Karen Kempf (Mickey). Jerry will be greatly missed by his family and friends. We are grateful to Vitas Hospice in Melbourne for the care, treatment and comfort they provided.

There will be a visitation Wednesday from 5-7 pm at Life event Center at Florida Memorial where a funeral service will be held Thursday at 10am. Interment will follow at Florida Memorial Gardens. There will be a celebration of Boomer's life following at the American Legion Post #163, 1795 N Harbor City Blvd, Melbourne, Fla 32935. Condolences may be left at www.floridamemorialfh-gardens.com.
