Gerald L. Anderson age 78 of Waynesburg died Friday January 17 2014 in the Golden Living Center in Waynesburg.
He was born March 30, 1935 in Waynesburg a son of the late Roy and Lillian Clark Anderson.
He was a member of Waynesburg High School class of 1954.
On February 26, 1955 he married Nora L. Garber Anderson who survives.
Mr. Anderson was a retired carpenter with Local 541 in Washington.
He was Baptist by faith. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose and Fraternal Order of Eagles in Waynesburg and was a social member of the Waynesburg V.F.W.
Mr. Anderson enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, restoring classic cars, hunting and fishing.
Surviving in addition to his wife are six children, Daniel W. Anderson (Shelly) of Rochester Mills, Cindy Anderson Foor of Waynesburg, Lora Anderson of Waynesburg, Peggy Katchmark (Greg) of Rices Landing, Mark Anderson (Robin) of Mt. Morris, and Connie Stevens (Chuck) of Mannington, WV; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Also surviving are two sisters, Waneita “Sis” Basinger and Bernice “Bernie” Shuman both of Oak Forest.
Deceased are two sisters, Helen Straight and Sandra Black; and one brother, Conrad Anderson.
Friends will be received 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday in Behm Funeral Homes Inc., 182 West High St. Waynesburg where services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 21, 2014 with Pastor Fred Tomlinson officiating followed by interment in Oakmont Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to a favorite charity. Condolences may be offered at www.behmfh.com .
