I am so sorry to hear of Geralynn's passing. I spent several days with her a few years ago at a workshop and we had so much fun together! Such a loving, kind, sweet and funny lady. There is a new light in heaven.

So sorry to hear about Geralynn. She had an amazing spirit and strength that taught me something every day I saw her. She once took a picture of each nurse caring for her during her early treatment and then gave them to us as gifts so that our families could see what we did while we were away from them! It was a very touching gift! Very true to who she was. I am saddened by her passing and thankful that I was able to know her. I have no doubt she has earned her wings! My prayers to her family during this time. Margie Cheek, RN

To the Lions Family, Gayle and all her friends. We are so saddened to have lost a really terrific lady. We all knew other as children in school, first at St. Philip Neri and then at Chapelle HS. Geralyn was always a pleasant person and was always so nice to me. I will never forget her. May The Lord Jesus, The Christ be with you all. I was so very fortunate to meet GiGi on our trip to Brazil just 5 months ago. We met at the Miami airport, neither of us had known each other before but I picked her out of the crowd and we never stopped talking. I knew she was sick but her beautiful soul was apparent. Even though we had a brief friendship, I feel that our meeting was no coincidence. I will miss her dearly and I know I have an angel watching over me. My heartfelt condolences to her family and friends and all who knew her. Celie Mann

To me, Geralynn Lion is an aunt, a godmother, a world traveler, and the bravest woman I have ever encountered. I use the present tense on purpose because she lives on as a fundamental force in shaping who I am now and who I will become in the future. She endured my puke, my pre-pubescent tantrums, and countless performances that would have bored anyone to tears, even though she didn't have to. As I got older, she would make me laugh until my sides hurt with the tales of the days when she babysat me, awkward dating stories, and ballads of the "cranky passenger who didn't get any peanuts." Her memory elicits just as strong of a response, now. Aunt G fought cancer like a champion, and she fights the very principle of death. She exists in the memories of an extensive network of people who laughed and loved with her just as much as I did. Still, it doesn't make missing her any easier.
