Obituary

Geralynn Gay "GG" Lion passed away peacefully on Friday, April 18, 2014 at the age of 53 after a courageous fight with cancer. Beloved daughter of Maurice Lion and Eunice White Lion. Cherished sister of Jennifer Clesi (Steve), Jessica Bourgeois (Deryle), Daniel Lion (Deb), David Lion (Eve), Valerie Sprinkle (Rich). She is survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. She was a graduate of Archbishop Chapelle, Class of 78. Geralynn attended LSU and UNO and graduated from Loyola University with a Bachelor's degree in Communications. Geralynn wrote and starred in several plays, performed in several Off Off Broadway...

Cherished sister of Jennifer Clesi (Steve), Jessica Bourgeois (Deryle), Daniel Lion (Deb), David Lion (Eve), Valerie Sprinkle (Rich). She is survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. She was a graduate of Archbishop Chapelle, Class of 78. Geralynn attended LSU and UNO and graduated from Loyola University with a Bachelor's degree in Communications. Geralynn wrote and starred in several plays, performed in several Off Off Broadway productions, and performed stand-up comedy. She was a world traveler, working as a flight attendant, interviewer and trainer, most recently for Southwest Airlines. Artistic, creative, fun, free-spirited and adventurous, Geralynn made friends around the globe. A spiritual and prayerful lover of angels, she chose Good Friday to be called to heaven.
A visitation will be held at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Drive in Metairie on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at 11:00 am, followed by a Catholic Mass at 1:00 pm. Interment will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
