Gertrude Marie Kubiak, age 86, passed away Wednesday, October 12, 2016. Born in Bremond, Texas, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister. She was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church, a charter member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, a member of NARFE Chapter 828 and of the Altar Society. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, playing Canasta and especially taking care of her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon Kubiak; great granddaughter, Isabella Kubiak; and parents, Antone and Annie Slenk. Survived by children, Kenneth Kubiak and wife Laura, Dennis Kubiak and wife Birdie, Debbie Bollom and husband Fred, and Donald Kubiak and wife Rae; grandchildren, Chris Kubiak and wife Barbara, Michael Kubiak, Brian Kubiak and wife Celina, Katie Kubiak, Travis Bollom, Hilary Francis and husband John, Kristen Kubiak, and Kayla Kubiak; great grandchildren, Alyssa, Tyler, Jackie, Alex, Ryan, Matthew, Jakub, Jayden, Cash, Blake, Brady, Joseph, and Cyprian; sister, Victoria Kubiak; sisters-in-law, Betty Slenk, and Willie Mae Kubiak; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, October 17, 2016 with a Vigil and Rosary to begin at 7:00 p.m. at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 19222 Tomball Parkway, Houston, Texas 77070. The Mass will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, October 18, 2016 also at Prince of Peace with a lunch reception immediately following the Mass. Interment will be held privately at Houston National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Parkinsons Disease Foundation by visiting www.pdf.org/about_parkinsons

I was very sorry to hear of Gertrude's passing, she and Leon were good friends of my parents, Grace and Earl Greenshield. After mother could not drive anymore, I would take her to visit Gertrude and she always looked forward to seeing her old friend. I will remember her fondly. Janis Greenshield Troutt

Rest in peace Aunt Gertrude battle long and hard fought and you now deserve the rest that is promised to us all in the arms of your Lord and Savor. When you arrived I know that everyone was their to greet you and you are now celebrating with all of them. My prayers are now that your family will find peace in your passing and in due time remember all the joys and happiness that they had with you.
