Gil P. Reyes, 61, of Winter Haven, passed away on July 8, 2014 due to cancer. He was born in Agat, Guam. He retired as a Fire Chief after 25 years of service with the Guam Fire Department. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Winter Haven where he was active in many spiritual ministries.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Francisca, father, Ignacio, brothers, Rudy and Ivan, and brother-in-law, Greg Babauta. He is survived by his wife, Christine Gyulavics-Reyes, a son, Graig Reyes (Tammy), three daughters, Leanna Reyes, Lydia Reyes, and Iva Reyes, five sisters, Julia Baza (Pete), MaryAnn Babauta, Lynn Rivera (Raymond), Susie "Lucille" Reyes, and Jennifer Reyes, three brothers, Albert Reyes (Veronica, Anthony Reyes (Annie), and Andy Reyes, sister-in-law, Mona Reyes, and five grandchildren, Colleen, Kayleen, Graig Anthony, Yenia, and Tasi.

A visitation will be held on Monday, July 14th, from 9-11:30, with a mass following at 12, both will be held at the main sanctuary at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Winter Haven. Following the services, he will be cremated and laid to rest on Guam.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Good Shepherd Hospice.

Gil, will always and forever be in the memories of the personnel of the Guam Fire Department, especially those that had the opportunity to work with and for him.
