Celebration of Life Service for Gilbert Dillingham, 83, is set for 3:00 p.m. Saturday at Hatchie Chapel Church with Bro. Casey Rutherford and Bro. Bill Wages officiating. Burial will follow in the Hatchie Chapel Cemetery.
Gilbert died May 17, 2017 at Cornerstone Health and Rehab. He was born January 30, 1934 in Alcorn Co. to the late Tom and Lillian Hunt Dillingham. He was a retired cabinet maker after 33 years in Memphis, TN.; he then went to work at the Daily Corinthian in the Circulation Dept. for 10 years. Gilbert was a member of Hatchie Chapel Church and attended Rutherford Chapel Church. He traveled throughout the area with his wife Sis. Jane Dillingham, as she preached and sang in many churches. He enjoyed wood working, spending time with his animals and family.
He is preceded in death by his daughter, Linda Jane Dillingham; parents; father-in-law and mother-in-law Isaac and Olarhue Eubanks; sister-in-law Edith Dillingham.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years Sis. Jane Dillingham; brother, Conner Dillingham; sister-in-law's and brother-in-law's Joan and David Sloan, Jean and Joe Stanley; nieces, Rhonda (Robert) Brunner, Tina (Nathan) Kornegay, Greta Meeks; great niece and nephew Elizabeth and Matthew Peters; host of other family and friends.
Family will receive friends at Hatchie Chapel Church, beginning at 5:00 p.m. Friday and go until service time Saturday.
