Glen Barnett Cowart went home to the Lord on the 7th of June 2014 in Austin, Texas after a short illness. Glen was born February 7, 1936 in Kilgore, Texas to Elmer Barnett Cowart and Irene Amelia Smelscer. He served his country with honor in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean conflict. Glen is survived by his mother, his sisters Katherine Delores Delvige of Lexington Texas and Iwilder Iun Dailey and husband Milton of Pflugerville, Texas, nephew Larry Lynn Dailey and niece Linda Kay Tucker. Glen Barnett Cowart went home to the Lord on the 7th of June 2014 in Austin, Texas after a short illness. Glen was born February 7, 1936 in Kilgore, Texas to Elmer Barnett Cowart and Irene Amelia Smelscer. He served his country with honor in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean conflict. Glen is survived by his mother, his sisters Katherine Delores Delvige of Lexington Texas and Iwilder Iun Dailey and husband Milton of Pflugerville, Texas, nephew Larry Lynn Dailey and niece Linda Kay Tucker. He is also survived by his son Glenn Grant Cowart and wife Sheila of El Reno, OK and daughter Delores Anne Nicar and husband Bill of Norman, OK and his children's mother, Bridget Meadows of Oklahoma City, OK. Also remaining to cherish his memory is his granddaughter Laura Elizabeth Halstied and husband Kenny and great grandsons, Tre, Evan and Kaden.

Glen Lived many years in Shawnee Oklahoma and leaves a host of friends in that city as well as many friend in the Austin area. He is remembered as a loyal friend as well as a source of joy and laughter. He never met a stranger and had great compassion for those less fortunate than himself.
