Obituary

Glenese R. ("Sandy") Black was born April 18, 1925 and passed away February 2, 2010. Sandy was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee to Eddie Mae and Arthur Reed. She attended local public schools, and Wesleyan College, Macon, Georgia and later attended the University of Chattanooga. She was an active member of the Beta-Beta chapter of Alpha Delta Pi, and she continued to remain active with the San Antonio Chapter of the ADPi alumni. Married to her high school sweetheart, Charlie Black in 1948, she followed him throughout his U S Air Force military career through assignments in Alaska, Alabama, California, Hawaii, Japan, and four separate...
Glenese R. ("Sandy") Black was born April 18, 1925 and passed away February 2, 2010. Sandy was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee to Eddie Mae and Arthur Reed.

She attended local public schools, and Wesleyan College, Macon, Georgia and later attended the University of Chattanooga. She was an active member of the Beta-Beta chapter of Alpha Delta Pi, and she continued to remain active with the San Antonio Chapter of the ADPi alumni. Married to her high school sweetheart, Charlie Black in 1948, she followed him throughout his U S Air Force military career through assignments in Alaska, Alabama, California, Hawaii, Japan, and four separate assignments to Texas. Both Sandy and Charlie were ardent ball-room dancers and members of several San Antonio and New Braunfels Dancing Clubs. She was a gourmet cook and a member of the Windcrest Gourmet Cooking Club, Windcrest Garden Club and Randolph Officers Wives Club.

Sandy is survived by her husband, Charles F. Black, one son, Dr. R. Jerry Black, D.V.M., and one granddaughter, Danielle Wildfong Black.

Visitation will be held on Sunday February 7, 2010 from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Sunset Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 8, 2010 at 12:30 p.m. in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that any donations be made to the American Diabetic Association.
