Funeral Mass will be at 12:00 p.m. Monday, July 14, 2014 at St. James Catholic Church for Glenn Alan Halvorson, Sr., 67, Gadsden who passed away peacefully at home with family at his bedside Friday, July 11, 2014. Rev. Father Jose Chacko will officiate. There will be no graveside service. Mr. Halvorson was born December 24, 1946 in Devil's Lake North Dakota to Duane and Shirley Johnson Halvorson. He was retired from Exxon Mobile and had resided in Gadsden for the past 17 years. Mr. Halvorson was born December 24, 1946 in Devil's Lake North Dakota to Duane and Shirley Johnson Halvorson. He was retired from Exxon Mobile and had resided in Gadsden for the past 17 years. He was an active member of St. James Catholic Church, where he was a member and Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus Council 3568 and Assembly 2051. He served in numerous offices locally and statewide. He served in the Air Force and was a veteran of the Vietnam War.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Duane and Shirley Halvorson; his first wife Darlene M. Halvorson; son Glenn A. Halvorson, Jr.; daughter, Elsa E. Halvorson; and grandsons, Joshua V. Bates and Nickolas Farley Wojchiechowski.
He is survived by his wife, Darlene T Halvorson; daughter, Courtney Halvorson; step-daughter, Lauren (Tony) Wojchiechowski of Prattville AL; step-sons, John (Amy) Bates of Southside AL, Charles A. (Benji) McClearia of Franklin TN, and Christopher L. McClearia of Trafford, AL; brothers, Curtis (Dianna) Halvorson of Indianapolis IN, Bruce (Judy) Halvorson of Washington IN, and Donald (Colleen) Halvorson of Park River ND; sisters, Diane (Gary) Greicar of River Park ND and Ines (Drew) Aaland of Hoople ND; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be the Knights of Columbus.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to St. James Catholic School.
