Gloria Alaniz-Suarez Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 6, 2010.

Gloria Dominguez Alaniz-Suarez, age 68, of Hanford, California entered into eternal rest on Saturday, April 3, 2010 in Hanford, California. She was a homemaker.

Gloria was born in Tulare, California on April 12, 1941 to Clyde and Victoria Dominguez. Her family lived throughout the Central Valley and they settled in Hanford in 1957. That same year, Gloria met and married Margarito Alaniz and they celebrated 37 years of marriage. He preceded her in death on July 11, 1994. On July 10, 2004 Gloria married Jesus Sanchez Suarez in Lemoore, California and she has made her home in Hanford, CA. Gloria's family was most important to her and she especially enjoyed the times she spent with her grandchildren. She truly enjoyed the holidays, cooking and preparing for family gatherings. She made the best tamales and they were always a huge hit with her family and with people from all over. She began her Christmas shopping early each year so that each one of her family received a gift from her. Gloria's home was called "The Refuge" so that everyone had a place to go. She enjoyed dancing and listening to Mexican music. Gloria was known as "Grandma" to all and she was a very kind, considerate and compassionate lady who always put others before herself. Her granddaughter, Priscilla, especially misses speaking with her each and every morning. Gloria loved red roses. First and foremost, Gloria put her faith and trust in God to help her through each day. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Victoria, her son, Daniel Alaniz, her brother, Alfonso Dominguez and her sister, Rosie Dominguez.

Gloria leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Jesus Sanchez Suarez; sons Margarito Alaniz, Jr. of Hanford, CA, Ruben Alaniz of Hanford, Ca, Robert Alaniz of San Francisco, CA, David Alaniz of San Leandro, CA; daughter Estella Silva of Selma, CA; brothers, Clyde Dominguez of Oliverhurst, CA, Victor Dominguez of San Jose, CA, Harold Dominguez of Marysville, Ca and Manuel Dominguez of Tulare, CA; sisters, Irene Ramos, Porterville, CA, Claudia Cruz of Porterville, CA; 22 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 8, 2010 from 4 – 8 p.m. at People's Funeral Chapel, 501 N. Douty St., Hanford, CA. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 9, 2010 at 10 a.m. at Hanford Pentecostal Church of God, 323 E. 11th St., Hanford, CA 93230. Interment services will follow at Hanford District Cemetery.

"Always Faithful", That's what you were until the very end. I thank God for the special blessing in my life that was you. I miss you terribly each and every minute of my life. Nobody knows or can even comprehend the depth of my sorrow and the emptiness in my soul that I feel now that you are gone. Though I KNOW you are in a better place, there is nothing I wouldnt do to have you and Grandpa back here with me. Just like the old times. Remember them? We used to all be so happy.
As long as I live you will never be forgotten. Audrina misses you dearly too. And it is because of the love given to me by you and Grandpa that I am able to do the same to my daughter. You taught me unconditional love. You sacrificed all you had for this family. We will all continue to get together every Easter in your honor because we know you would want the family to stay together. I even started to make things right with my Dad.
You touched so many people. It was evident in all the visitors you had in the hospital and those who came to the service. You packed the house! My heart swelled with pride upon hearing all the wonderful stories and beautiful things said about you. I could not have asked for a better Grandmother/Mother/Friend and everything else you have been to me. I buried you with the Angel I got you for mother's day a couple years ago to keep you safe on your journey. Tell Grandpa and Uncle Daniel I say "hello" and send my love.
I Love You and will never, ever forget you.

I would like to thank all the people who supported us during this sad and difficult time. Pastor Bobby Guerra and the members from the Hanford Pentecostal Church of God. His words of hope and willingness to help us in this time of need says alot about him and about the brothers there. My cousin Steve Rios from Southern California who made a really great effort to speak at my mother's service and delivered a very touching sermon/euology, Thank You, Thank You. Brother Alfred Aviles, Pastor of the Lemoore Apostolic Assembly for his kind words, support, love and understanding. Priscilla Silva, my niece from Lemoore and Ruben Jr. Alaniz my nephew from Hanford who I saw put so much effort into making sure "there" Grandma was taken care of. Claude and Audrey Shirts, Paula, John and Peg Foley, may God bless you for being there for me. My aunt Nora and Ruth from Corcoran, Ca. who sang a couple of songs that my mother would've loved. Veronica my niece for her special song to her Grandma, Rudy Silva's and Genevieve Alaniz's, (my daughter), tribute song to my mother.
I know my mother will be missed. She was a special lady. Loving, caring, helpful and giving, she did alot to keep our family together. And yes, her smile is what alot of people will remember. As friendly and loving as they come, she was that. "Mom, I love you so much and am saddened that you are gone, but I believe you are in a better place now, no more suffering and pain, God Bless You Dear Mom, I love you with all of my heart,

Your son, Robert Alaniz
