Gloria Dean Carpenter, 72, passed away on Wednesday, August 17, 2011 in a local hospital. She was born in Gilbert, LA and lived in Westlake most of her life. She was a member of St. John Bosco. She loved doing crafts, sewing, ceramics, oil paintings and Nascar racing. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend who especially enjoyed time spent with her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Gerald Carpenter of Westlake; son, Greg Carpenter of Westlake; daughter, Cindi Sallee and husband, Greg of Monument, CO; daughter-in-law, Kathryn Carpenter of Lake Charles; sisters, Shirley Cormier of Lake...
Gloria Dean Carpenter, 72, passed away on Wednesday, August 17, 2011 in a local hospital.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend who especially enjoyed time spent with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Gerald Carpenter of Westlake; son, Greg Carpenter of Westlake; daughter, Cindi Sallee and husband, Greg of Monument, CO; daughter-in-law, Kathryn Carpenter of Lake Charles; sisters, Shirley Cormier of Lake Charles, Billy Foy of Westlake and 6 grandchildren, Shane Sallee, Justin Carpenter, Lexi Carpenter, Angela Sallee, Megan Sallee and Josh Sallee as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be 1 p.m. Saturday, August 20, 2011 at St. John Bosco Catholic church. Rev. Bert Borrell will officiate. Burial will be in Westlake Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be at Hixson Funeral Home of Westlake on Friday from 4-9 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. til time of service. Rosary will be prayed on Friday evening at 7 p.m. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.hixsonfuneralhomes.com
