Grandpa,
I am so very blessed to have had you for my grandpa. You were an awesomely, wonderful man who loved everyone unconditionally and who always shared the bounty of your blessings with all around you, especially those who were close family and friends. You were always liked and respected by all those who had the priveledge of meeting you, and all of my friends who have heard of your passing are saddened that you are no longer with us.
I have a lifetime of wonderful memories of you and Grandma. I am so thankful to have had all of those wonderful experiences with you- all of the weekend visits, school vacation visits, camping trips, the trip to Utah, other misc. trips and outings, backyard bbqs with family and friends, going to watch you and grandma bowl. I love how you were always singing, whistling, or humming, playing your guitar or harmonica, how you always had a song- or at least music- in your heart.
I've loved coming to spend the weekends with you and grandma these past three years, just being together and hanging out. You have always been such a joy to be with, your sweet spirit so comforting, and you've always been one of my best friends. Mom was right, you set the bar high for all of us, but you also set wonderful example of what true love is.
Thank you for all of these years. I will treasure them always, and I will miss you dearly. Like Mom said, I'm not saying goodbye, but see you later. Oh yeah, and while you're giving Larry's dogs a little lovin', please be sure to give some to Fannie, Freddy, Daisy, Bandit and Tasha for me, ok.
I love you always Grandpa!! XOXOXO
Lisa

Dad,
I always felt so blessed to have you and Mom for parents. You were a good man that always put your family and others needs before your own. You were a simple man and lived a simple life. You worked hard to provide your family with everything we ever needed. You gave all your children every opportunity in life that you possibly could. One of the best things you ever did was provide Mom the opportunity to not work so she would be available to us kids at all times. Not to say she didn't work, because she worked hard. I can't ever remember either one of you just sitting around. Growing up, I always felt loved and had a safe peaceful feeling in our home. I knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that you would always protect and take care of your family. For that, I'm eternally grateful.
I have so many wonderful memories of you. I loved listening to you play your guitar and sing. Especially when we gathered together with aunts, uncles and cousins on the weekends. When you weren't singing you were whistling or playing the harmonica. Music was always in the air.
Thank you for being a great husband (for nearly 71 years), father, grandpa and great grandpa. I think I inherited my love for babies and little children from you. It's a true testament to ones character when little children are drawn to them. And children were definately drawn to you.
It was my honor to help care for and spend time with you the last few years. Although your memory was failing you, you never once forgot to say thank you for anything I ever did. In 91 years you never complained about anything and everything was A-OK. You've set the bar high for those of us you've left behind. I hope we make you proud.
Like you told Mom a few days before you left us, "we won't say goodbye", but rather I'll see you later.
I Love you Dad,
Colleen

Dad,
I will miss you dearly, but will always remember the special moments you and I had together. I look back at my life growing up and everything was just perfect. The time we spent camping, hunting, fishing, riding our motorcycles, family vacations throughout many states, “our” trips to the coast, and the many BBQ's in the backyard with friends and family. I always knew you'd be there for anything I needed help with. You always had time to spend with me, taught me so many things, and gave me so many reasons to always be a good person and treat others with kindness. I know in my heart, no one could have better parents than I did and be loved more than I was. I think of you daily and will for the rest of my life. I can only hope, I become the person to others as you were to me.
I will always be grateful for all you've done to help me in life.
The last thing I ask of you is to rub Wyatt (the old man as you called him), Josie, Raleigh, Skipper, Molly, and Petty's heads for me.
I love you dad!!!
