Obituary

Gordon Webb, 87, of Olathe, passed away June 22, 2013 at Olathe Medical Center. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 26th at Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home, 701 N. 94th St., KCK. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m., Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment with Honors will follow the service at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Gordon was born July 10, 1925 in Walkenda, Missouri to William Ray and Viola May Webb. He served in the Air Force, Pacific Campaign in the Philippines during WWII. Gordon married the love of his life, Alta, on September 7, 1954. They moved to the Kansas City area and raised their family. He worked first at the Perkins Dog Food plant for 26 years and then for the Shawnee Mission School district; always keeping his own cleaning business on the side. Gordon and Alta were active members of the Victoria Tabernacle Church, now Village West; he taught Sunday School and often ushered during services. He loved gardening, fishing, playing honkey tonk guitar, taking care of his animals (especially his dog, Mandy) and watching baseball and football.
He was preceded in death by his parents William and Viola Webb; his wife, Alta Webb and their infant daughter, Debra; three brothers and two sisters.
Gordon is survived by his sons, Mike Webb and his wife Beverly of Olathe, KS and Sam Webb and his wife Cindy of Raymore, MO; seven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
