Grace Ward McFerrin Jamison, a native of Collierville, TN, died on January 4, 2014. Born on September 17, 1921, she was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Howard Jamison, her parents Grace Ward and John Berry McFerrin, her brother John Berry McFerrin, her sister Martha McFerrin Lemly, and her grandson Howard Morrison. She is survived by Julia Maddux of Memphis and Gracie Schriner (Frank Jr.) of Lookout Mountain, TN. Mrs. Jamison was a graduate of Collierville High School and Stephens College in Columbia, MO. Grace Ward McFerrin Jamison, a native of Collierville, TN, died on January 4, 2014. Born on September 17, 1921, she was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Howard Jamison, her parents Grace Ward and John Berry McFerrin, her brother John Berry McFerrin, her sister Martha McFerrin Lemly, and her grandson Howard Morrison. She is survived by Julia Maddux of Memphis and Gracie Schriner (Frank Jr.) of Lookout Mountain, TN. Mrs. Jamison was a graduate of Collierville High School and Stephens College in Columbia, MO. A lifelong active member of the Collierville United Methodist Church, where she was a past president of the UMW. She was a member of the VFW Auxilary, a past president of the Contempory Club and active supporter of the Collierville Burch Library and Magnolia Cemetery. Throughout her life, she was a dedicated advocate of the Collierville community. Mrs. Jamison will always be known for the enduring compassion, generosity and love she shared with her family and friends. Her strength of spirit and, no doubt, grace - truly inspired the many lives she touched. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren Mary Chancellor (Brian) of Memphis, Frank Schriner III (Kirsten) of Nashville, and Ferrin Schriner of Austin, TX; and great-grandchildren Will Morrison, Hannah and Buck Chancellor, and Helen and Mac Schriner. The whole family is beyond grateful for Mrs. Jamison's devoted caregivers, who brought her such comfort and peace in her home. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 7 from 11:30 a.m. until service time at 1 p.m. at Sanctuary on the Square in Collierville. Burial will follow in Magnolia Cemetery.
