Gracie Mae Swope, age 91, of Bastrop passed from this life on Wednesday, October 12, 2016. She was born January 21, 1925 in Wells, Texas to Ellis and Nora Mae (Lester) George. She married Hugh Edward Swope on July 23, 1946 in Beaumont.

She and her husband owned and operated Grand Finance Co. in Beaumont from 1960 until 1976.

Mrs. Swope was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Hugh who passed away on December 29, 2006.

Survivors include: sons, Ronald Swope, his wife, Marilyn, and David Swope ; 2 grandchildren, Tracy Swope Botos and Cassie Swope Pharis; and a great-grandson, Dylan Pharis

Funeral services will be 1:00pm Saturday, October 15, 2016 at Marrs-Jones-Newby Funeral Home, Bastrop, with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery, Bastrop.
