Gurney Fann, age 80, of Main Street, Mosheim, died Friday, June 3, 2011, at Laughlin Memorial Hospital. He was retired from Free Service Tire Store, where he worked for almost 38 years and Summers Taylor where he worked for 6 years. Mr. Fann was a member of Mosheim Missionary Baptist Church. Gurney Fann, age 80, of Main Street, Mosheim, died Friday, June 3, 2011, at Laughlin Memorial Hospital.

He was retired from Free Service Tire Store, where he worked for almost 38 years and Summers Taylor where he worked for 6 years.

Mr. Fann was a member of Mosheim Missionary Baptist Church.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 57 years: Jean Fann; daughter and son-in-law: Kathy and Tony Sutton of Chuckey; son and his girlfriend: Gary Fann and Rhonda King of Greeneville; grandchildren: Scott Sutton of Chuckey, Amber Sutton Garay-Leon and husband Sean, Lance Fann and wife Brandy, and Heath Fann, all of Greeneville; great granddaughters: Hannah Jones and Bailey Grace Fann; step-great grandchildren: Mason Surrett, Stephanie Garay-Leon and Stephen Garay-Leon; special niece and nephew and caretakers: Susie and Andy Foulks; special little friends: Landon, Hope Ann, Aaron, Olivia, and Harley; special friends: former devoted daughter-in-law, Karen Fann and Lucille Renner; brother and sister-in-law: Lee and Bertha Fann of Mosheim; sisters: Betty Tullock of Greeneville and Lillian (Celeste) Carter of Midway; sisters-in-law and husband: Mary Sue Fann, Ruth Fann, Evelyn Fann, all of Greeneville, Mary and Delmar Hicks of Midway; and several nieces and nephews.

He was born July 21, 1930 as the son of the late John and Mattie Thompson Fann. He was preceded in death by three brothers: Vance (Fred) Fann, Willard Fann, and Robert Fann.

The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Susie and Andy Foulks at 816 Little Chuckey Road in Midway. For directions, call 422-6207.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 6, 2011, at Mosheim Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Dennis Adler, Rev. Bill Helton, and Rev. Marty Hicks officiating.

Interment will follow in Carter's Chapel Cemetery.

His pallbearers are Scott Sutton, Lance Fann, Andy Foulks, Tim Barham, Kenny Tweed, Freddy Hobbs, Tim Fann, Ricky Fann.

Dr. Charles Montgomery and staff, Aspen Wing of Life Care Center, Roger Quillen William Dearstone, employees of Summers Taylor, and 4th floor senior care of Takoma will serve as honorary pallbearers.
