Guy Walker Siler, Jr., 94 a resident of Randleman and former resident of Greensboro passed away on Wednesday October 12, 2016 at Beacon Place in Greensboro. Mr. Siler was born June 20, 1922 in Greensboro the son of Guy Walker Siler, Sr. and Beatrice James Siler.
Mr. Siler was a graduate of Greensboro High School (Grimsley High School). He was retired from the Miller Brewing Company and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in WW II and the Korean War. He was a member of Glenwood Presbyterian Church where he was a former member of the choir.
He was married to Dorothy Inez West Siler who preceded him in death on February 25, 2013. He was also preceded in death by his parents and a son, Guy Walker Siler, III and his sister, Elma Brooks Siler.
Mr. Siler is survived by his son, Joseph Thompson Siler, Sr. of Randlman; grandchildren, Joseph Thompson Siler, Jr., Justin Cody Siler, Jennifer Siler, Morgan Wayne Siler and great grandchildren, Joseph "Trey" Thompson Siler, III, Delilah Siler and Aliana Siler.
Graveside services with Military Honors provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at Green Hill Cemetery in Greensboro with Reverend Vernon McDaniels officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Mr. Siler's memory are requested to be made to the Glenwood Presbyterian Church, 1205 Glenwood Ave., Greensboro, NC 27403.
