Harold Theodore “Dave” Davidson, 88, of Deland, FL passed away on April 30, 2014. He was born in Jacksonville, FL to the late Walter and Margaret Sorensen Davidson.



Dave was a veteran of the US Marine Corps and retired from Dow Pharmaceuticals after 25 years of service. He was a member of the Church of Our Saviour before moving to Deland to be closer to their only child.



He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Verna Dinkins Davidson; beloved daughter, Kimberly Suzanne McLaughlin (Gregory); cherished grandchildren, Bailie Elizabeth and Connor Edward McLaughin; brother, Jack A. Davidson (Vivian); along with other family members and friends.



Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, May 5, 2014 in Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin with visitation from 12:30-2:30 p.m. prior to the service. Internment in Woodlawn Cemetery in Macclenny, FL will follow.

Love and Hugs to you all! We love you and grieve with you for Your wonderful Husband, best friend and help mate, Aunt Verna, for your terrific Dad, encourager and supporter through the years, Kim, for your Grandpa who instilled so much love, patience, kindness and joy in your lives, Connor and Bailie, and for our special Uncle Dave, who always made us feel like it was just yesterday, the last time we saw him. We will always remember him when we think of you all and when we visit. He was a blessing to many! Such a loss for you Kim. I so remember my wonderful relationship with my Dad and miss him every day but am at peace knowing he is free of all worries and pain. In time you too will feel the comfort of knowing your Dad is in Heaven where any and all difficulties do not exist.
Your Bailie and Conner were blessed to have him in their young lives. Surely he was an inspiration to both of them and they will remember him with love and respect.
