He attended Steele Elementary Grant Jr High and graduated from South High in 1941. He always worked as a Teen delivering a Denver Post bike route, and working in an antique store. During the war he worked for the Carlson Frink Dairy which supplied all the military in the area. He worked for Smith Welding about ten years until it closed in 1959 then at Allied Steel until his retirement in 1986. Harold's hobbies were HO Trains. He loved to Dance and began Square Dancing in the early 1940's. He was a member of the Sherwood International dancers. With this club he attended the International Folk Festival in ST Louis MO 3 years. He continued to dance off and on though out his life as long as he was able.

On September 30, 1951 Harold married Carol Brady at her home church in Waubay, South Dakota. They met through mutual friends at Warren Methodist Church in Denver. They would have celebrated their 66 th Anniversary this year. Harold and family were members of the Ohio Ave Congregational Church until it merged with the Washington Park United Church of Christ.
