Obituary

Harold Gene Adams, 77, of Norman, OK, passed away Thursday, November 11, 2010. Harold was born in Cameron, OK on September 24, 1933 to Carl and Illa M. Adams. Services will be 2:00PM Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at Primrose Chapel, with interment 1:00PM Thursday at Oakland Cemetery, Poteau, Oklahoma. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and served from July 1952 to July 1956. He served as an aircraft mechanic in the Philippines, Travis AFB, Sheppard AFB and Chanute AFB. Harold Gene Adams, 77, of Norman, OK, passed away Thursday, November 11, 2010. Harold was born in Cameron, OK on September 24, 1933 to Carl and Illa M. Adams.

Services will be 2:00PM Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at Primrose Chapel, with interment 1:00PM Thursday at Oakland Cemetery, Poteau, Oklahoma.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and served from July 1952 to July 1956. He served as an aircraft mechanic in the Philippines, Travis AFB, Sheppard AFB and Chanute AFB. After serving in the military, he attended college, earning a Master's degree in mathematics. He taught mathematics in Quinton, OK and Carlsbad, New Mexico. In 1966, he went to work for Continental Oil Company in Ponca City, OK as a Senior Programmer and retired at the age of 55. He moved to Norman, OK in 1996 where he lived until the time of his death.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Harold is survived by his daughter, Tracie Smith of Huntington Beach, CA; his son, Mitchell Adams of Oklahoma city, OK; his sister and her husband, Helen and Clarence Powell of Norman, OK; three grandchildren, Lexy Turner, Taylor Smith and Roman Smith; a niece, Brandee Watson and one great-niece, Macy Watson; also many other family members and friends.

He will be greatly missed and in our hearts forever.
