Obituary

Harold Robert Alexander, 82, of Chattanooga, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, November 18, 2013. He was born in Toledo, Ohio and raised in Newton, Illinois. He was a US Navy veteran and retired as a Certified Life Underwriter in Chattanooga. He was also a devoted member of Ridgedale Baptist Church where he belonged to the Covenant Sunday School Class. Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Norma Alexander; children, Linda (David) Green of Bloomington, Illinois, Jerry (Joanie) Alexander of Sharpsburg, GA and Marcia (Russell) Wells of Williamston, NC; 7 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and sister, Barbara (John) Althoff. Harold Robert Alexander, 82, of Chattanooga, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, November 18, 2013.

He was born in Toledo, Ohio and raised in Newton, Illinois. He was a US Navy veteran and retired as a Certified Life Underwriter in Chattanooga. He was also a devoted member of Ridgedale Baptist Church where he belonged to the Covenant Sunday School Class.

Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Norma Alexander; children, Linda (David) Green of Bloomington, Illinois, Jerry (Joanie) Alexander of Sharpsburg, GA and Marcia (Russell) Wells of Williamston, NC; 7 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and sister, Barbara (John) Althoff.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hayes and Naomi Alexander; and sister, Betty Weber.

A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, November 21, 2013 at 1 PM at the funeral home with Dr. Doug Plumlee officiating,

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 PM on Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at the funeral home.

Memorial donations may be made to Ridgedale Baptist Church, 1831 Hickory Valley Road, Chattanooga, TN 37412.

Arrangements are by the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist. 404 S, Moore Road, East Ridge, TN 37412.
