H. Dean Batten
H. Dean Batten, 77, of Parkersburg passed away Sunday, June 26, 2011 at Camden Clark Medical Center- Memorial Division.
He was born July 20, 1933 in Zona, WV a son to the late Howard and Hazel Lawrentz Batton. He was a mechanic for GE, and veteran of the US Army serving in the Korean Conflict. He was a loving husband and father who loved the outdoors; hunting, fishing and traveling on motorcycle.
He is survived by his wife G. Rochella Batten, son, Michael Batten of Vienna, daughters, Dee Dee Silvers (Dick) of Cookeville, Tenn., Ginger Wingrove (Ray) of Vienna, Kathy Noll of Parkersburg, and Sharon Hawk (Dean) of Charlotte, NC, brother, Lester Batton, sister, Norma Curfman (Leo), 10 grandchildren, and 10 Great Grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Bill Batton, and granddaughter, Krystal Buskirk.
Visitation will be Tuesday, June 28, 2011 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
Service will be Wednesday, June 29, 2011, 11:00 am at the funeral home, with visitation one hour prior to the service, Parkersburg with Dr. Russell Hosey officiating. Burial will follow in the Sunset Memory Gardens.
